La Fundación Impuestos y Competitividad ha presentado este martes un trabajo colectivo que concluye que es necesaria una modificación del Impuesto sobre el Valor Añadido (IVA) en España para mejorar la competitividad española. 

Según concluye el libro, en el marco de la vigente directiva europea y de la jurisprudencia del Tribunal de Justicia de la Unión Europea, es "posible y deseable" la revisión del régimen en vigor del IVA en España para introducir modificaciones que pueden contribuir a mejorar la competitividad de la economía y aliviar la carga formal que la aplicación de este impuesto supone para los empresarios. 

El proyecto tiene como objetivo conmemorar los 30 años de vigencia del IVA y reconocer el avance técnico que esta figura supuso en contraposición con los impuestos sobre el consumo vigentes hasta entonces. 

A la presentación han asistido el secretario de Estado de Hacienda, Miguel Ferre, la presidenta de la Comisión Fiscal de CEOE, Pilar González de Frutos, y los presidentes de la Fundación Impuestos y Competitividad, Luis Briones, y de la Asociación Española de Asesores Fiscales (Aedaf), José Ignacio Alemany.
